When it is time to put ink on paper (or pixels in a PDF), TimeNet Law gives you full control over how your documents look. Paper sizes, margins, orientation, batch printing for entire billing cycles. Professional output, every time.

Key settings you can configure:

  • Paper size: Letter, Legal, A4, and custom sizes

Printing Invoices

Invoices are the most common thing you will print. TimeNet Law formats them based on your Invoice Architect template settings:

1

Open the invoice

Navigate to the invoice you want to print from the Invoices window.

2

Click Print or press shortcut

Use File → Print or + P.

3

Preview the output

The print preview shows exactly what will come out. Check formatting, page breaks, and layout.

4

Adjust settings if needed

Change paper size, orientation, or margins from the print dialog.

5

Print or save as PDF

Click Print to send to your printer, or use the macOS PDF button to save as a PDF file.

Pro Tip

Use the macOS "Save as PDF" option in the print dialog to create PDF invoices for email delivery. This is the same output you get from the Email Invoices feature, just generated manually.

Batch Printing

When you have finished a billing cycle and need to print dozens of invoices at once, batch printing saves hours:

1

Select multiple invoices

In the Invoices window, select the invoices you want to print. Use + click to select multiple, or + A to select all.

2

Choose Batch Print

Go to File → Batch Print or right-click and select Batch Print.

3

Review the batch

A summary shows how many invoices will print and the total page count.

4

Print

Click Print. All invoices print sequentially with proper page breaks between each one.

Batch printing supports all the same paper and layout settings as individual printing. Each invoice starts on a new page.

Printing Reports

Reports often need landscape orientation or adjusted margins to fit wide tables. TimeNet Law remembers your last-used print settings per report type, so you do not have to reconfigure each time.

  • Aging reports: Usually best in landscape with smaller margins
  • Productivity reports: Portrait works well for most layouts
  • Financial summaries: Landscape for multi-column formats

PDF Export

Every printable document in TimeNet Law can be saved as a PDF through the macOS print system:

  • Open the print dialog ( + P)
  • Click the PDF dropdown in the lower-left corner
  • Choose Save as PDF
  • Select your destination folder and filename

The PDF output is identical to what would print on paper. Fonts, formatting, and layout are all preserved. This is also how you can use AirPrint to print directly from your Mac to a wireless printer.

Pro Tip

Create a dedicated folder for exported PDFs organized by billing cycle. When clients request historical invoices, you will have them ready instantly.
