Sending Your First Invoice

Step 1: Open the Invoice

From the invoice list, select the invoice you want to send. Click "Email" or press โŒ˜E.

Step 2: Verify Recipient

TimeNet Law pre-fills the client's billing email. Add CC recipients if needed (great for sending to both attorney and accounts payable).

Step 3: Customize Message

The email uses your template but you can edit the message for this specific invoice. Add notes about the work or payment terms.

Step 4: Send

Click Send. The invoice PDF is attached automatically, and the invoice is marked as "Sent" with the date.

Pro Tip

Set up your email template once in Preferences โ†’ Email. Include your firm's standard payment terms, thank you message, and contact info. Every invoice will use it automatically.

Batch Email Invoices

Just did batch billing? Send all those invoices at once:

  1. Go to Billing โ†’ Unsent Invoices
  2. Select all (or filter to specific clients)
  3. Click "Email All Selected"
  4. Confirm and send

Each client receives their individual invoice with your template message. End-of-month billing becomes a two-step process: generate all, send all.
