Why Automate?

Every minute spent on administrative tasks is a minute not spent on billable work. TimeNet Law's automation features eliminate repetitive data entry and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Recurring entries: Auto-generate time entries for regular tasks
  • Scheduled billing: Set it and forget it invoicing
  • Smart defaults: Pre-fill common entries based on matter type

All your automations in one place — recurring entries, scheduled billing, and smart defaults

Setting Up Recurring Time Entries

Perfect for retainer clients, monthly check-ins, or any regular work:

Step 1: Create the Template Entry

Go to Time → New Entry and fill in all the details you want to repeat (client, matter, description, duration, rate).

Step 2: Mark as Recurring

Check "Make Recurring" and set your frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, or custom interval.

Step 3: Set the Schedule

Choose when entries should be created. They'll appear in your time list ready to review and adjust if needed.

Pro Tip

Recurring entries are created as drafts by default. This gives you a chance to adjust duration or description before finalizing—perfect for work that varies slightly each time.

Scheduled Billing

Never forget to send an invoice again. Set up automatic billing cycles for consistent cash flow:

  • Monthly billing: Invoices generated on the 1st (or any date you choose)
  • Matter-based triggers: Auto-invoice when a matter closes
  • Threshold billing: Generate invoice when unbilled time exceeds a set amount

Pro Tip

Even with scheduled billing, invoices are created as drafts first. You always have final review before they go out.
